We are expanding our presence in the sports sector and seeking a dynamic Sports Marketing Coordinator to join our team. This role will focus on driving sales and managing marketing activities for our licensed universities and high schools.


Job Summary: The Sports Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for driving sales and assisting in the planning and execution of marketing strategies for Nickel & Suede's licensed universities and high schools. This role involves significant sales outreach, managing social media accounts, creating marketing plans and briefs, communicating with licensing companies, and ensuring compliance with licensing agreements. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, have a strong background in sales and marketing, and be ready to wear multiple hats to move the needle and drive results.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Outreach:
  • Proactively engage with university and high school stakeholders to promote and sell Nickel & Suede products.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with student ambassadors, bookstore representatives, and alumni associations.
  • Identify and capitalize on sales opportunities within the sports sector.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets through effective sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups and maintain a sales pipeline to ensure steady growth.
  • Participate in sales meetings and provide insights and updates on sales activities and progress.


  • Marketing Strategies:
  • Support the creation and implementation of marketing plans and briefs for licensed universities and high schools.
  • Collaborate with university marketing teams to align efforts and maximize brand exposure.
  • Assist in developing and managing social media content calendars.
  • Run social media accounts, engage with followers, respond to comments, and monitor social media trends.
  • Track and report on social media metrics to assess effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
  • Create content for social media as needed.


  • Licensing Management:
  • Stay on top of licensing agreements and ensure compliance with all licensing requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with licensing companies, including the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) and others.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all licensed products meet university and high school guidelines.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure marketing strategies align with sales goals.
  • Maintain regular communication with university marketing teams, students, bookstore representatives, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate new product design and correspondence with schools to ensure alignment with brand and university guidelines.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in sales or marketing, preferably in sports marketing or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of sales techniques and principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for sports and an understanding of the sports industry.
  • Proficiency in marketing software and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media management platforms).
  • A resourceful, go-getter attitude with a proven ability to drive sales and move the needle.
