As a Speech Therapist at New Story, you will be a key leader in empowering students with diverse needs to communicate confidently and effectively. You'll work hand-in-hand with a passionate team of educators and clinical staff to create an inclusive environment where every voice is heard and valued.

This opportunity is a school-based, salaried position that allows you to thrive without the hassle of tracking billable hours. For those seeking a flexible schedule, we're open to initial part-time hours (20 hours/week minimum), with the willingness to grow into full-time hours as the school year progresses. We are currently offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for this position full-time. New grads and those seeking clinical fellowships also encouraged to apply.

Skills & Abilities

We are looking for a Speech Therapist who excels at:

  • Communication & Listening: Mastery of verbal and nonverbal communication is crucial for this position, as well as the ability to actively listen and understand students' needs.
  • Empathy & Patience: We strive to offer the most supportive environment for each of our students, who may often experience difficult communication challenges. Demonstrating empathy and patience during sessions is a must
  • Clinical Knowledge: A deep understanding of speech disorders, their causes, and evidence-based intervention techniques. This includes assessment and evaluation knowledge for creating individualized treatment plans.
  • Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Each student has their own unique needs and challenges, therefore the ability to analyze and adapt therapy approaches and problem-solve in real-time is vital to this position.
  • Collaboration: Working together is essential for our team We thrive on effective collaboration with our staff, students, and their families.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Data Interpretation & Treatment Planning: Interpret data, create and implement personalized treatment plans, and conduct assessments that set our students on the path to success.
  • Communication Skills Development: Nurture students' communication skills through verbal expression, receptive language, and augmentative communication tailored to each of their unique needs. Be ready to get creative and adapt your therapy activities to engage and inspire each student
  • Team Collaboration: Partake in a collaborative effort with a team of educators and clinical staff to ensure each student is receiving the most effective treatment plan.
  • Reports & Feedback: Create comprehensive and insightful reports and provide recommendations and feedback regarding students' future needs.
  • Behavior Management: Navigate and implement appropriate behavior management techniques, utilizing strategies and tactics that foster a positive learning environment.
  • Supply Management: Manage and maintain all speech therapy supplies, including tracking and ordering new supplies when needed.

Required

  • 1 year(s): Minimum of one year experience providing speech therapy to children (Clinical Fellows/New Grads eligible to apply)

Education

Required

  • Bachelors or better in Speech-Language Pathology

Preferred

  • Masters or better in Speech-Language Pathology or related field

Licenses & Certifications

  • Licensed Spch Lang Path

Preferred

  • Speech TCH Certification
