Specialist, Strategic Visualization

Job Description

The Strategic Visualization Specialist will work closely with the Vehicle Line team to develop materials for executive approval. The focus will be on crafting and visualizing the storyline for executive-level presentations, ensuring that the content is compelling, coherent, and visually engaging. The Specialist will also provide insights and recommendations to enhance the narrative flow and impact of the presentations, aligning them with the overall strategic goals of the organization.

The Strategic Visualization Specialist works closely with colleagues from the Vehicle Line department, Mazda North America Operations (MNAO) and Japan Product / R&D Teams, and key MNAO business groups. This role transforms comprehensive strategic initiatives, derived from extensive external and internal analysis, into clear and concise narratives. These narratives are tailored to be easily understood and actionable by both top corporate executives and individual vehicle program engineers and planners, ensuring alignment and support across all levels of the organization.

Vehicle Planning Support - 60%

  • Develop Executive Review PowerPoint presentation materials and storylines, using strategic assumptions from individual vehicle milestones provided by the Vehicle Line Manager team.
  • Incorporate market, competitor, customer, and business equation data to capture the strategic intent and required actions to meet business targets.
  • Transform complex information into simplified, visually appealing, and easily interpreted presentation stories that build confidence and excite the audience.
  • Collaborate closely with the Vehicle Line Manager to translate draft verbiage and spreadsheet data into succinct, easily understood, and visually engaging storylines during the development of executive approval PowerPoint materials.

Cross-Carline Initiative Approval Support - 20%

  • Work closely with Vehicle Line team member on cross carline initiatives to visualize supporting data and storylines to simplify the presentation of complex topics.
  • Ensure that presentations enable the audience to quickly grasp strategic assumptions and understand how the supporting data validates business initiatives.
  • Develop visually engaging and easily interpreted presentations that convey the strategic intent and required actions.
  • Facilitate alignment and support across all levels of the organization by creating clear and concise narratives.
  • Continuously refine and improve presentation materials based on feedback and evolving business needs.

Cross Collaboration - 20%

  • Utilize base documents compiled by internal colleagues to support the development of discussion framework materials.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure that all materials are accurate, relevant, and compelling.
  • Ensure that all materials are tailored to the audience, enabling quick comprehension and informed decision-making.

Qualifications And Other Requirements

Education (Minimum):

Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or work experience in lieu of degree.

Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in strategic planning and/or communications with proven track record in the following:
    • Preparing Executive level presentation material in highly desired
    • Experience in effective strategic planning/implementation and excellent analytical and decision-making skills
    • Experience transforming source data into visualized information, building a compelling story in preparation for project approval meetings
    • Experience in management consulting and/or professional services role is highly desired
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications with strong PowerPoint, Excel and data visualization tool experience (PowerBI).
  • Ability to think strategically and develop logical explanations of business proposals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, presentation, and visualization skills, along with excellent timeline management skills.
  • Self-starter, flexible thinker and outstanding communicator, as well as comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and influencing diverse personalities and perspectives.
  • Innate intellectual curiosity.
  • Ability to work both autonomously to derive insights and analytics from multiple data sources and work collaboratively to support team in forming solutions to problems.

Pay Range

$66,400.00-$96,250.00

Salary to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
