General Description Of Position

Executes asset protection programs for retail stores and donation centers and the corporate office in

the state of Arkansas. Manages the card access system, alarm system and handles workers'

compensation and general liability claims and safety of Goodwill's workforce, clients and stakeholders

in pursuit of Performance Excellence. Provides education and training to help associates protect

Goodwill assets.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assesses store procedures to ensure the protection of inventory, cash, equipment, and other

Goodwill assets. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

  • Safety and security: Serve as safety coordinator. Inspect facilities when traveling and provide input

for safety training. This includes checking buildings for safety hazards and counseling employees and

managers on the importance of safety rules and regulations. Investigates injuries in order to assure

legitimacy, as necessary. This duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time.

  • Investigates evidence of potential or actual inventory shrink, and loss of cash, equipment or other

Goodwill assets. Prepares detailed and accurate case/investigation reports in a timely manner. Offers

recommendations for improvement and maintains documentation and records of loss prevention

activities. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

  • Analyzes store point-of-sale, inventory, cash, and other operating information and identifies trends

and exceptions for further investigation. Assists by reviewing the SOP's for opportunities for

improvement in process and procedures making recommendations where opportunities are identified.

This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.

  • Educates and trains retail store team members in programs and methods for loss control: protecting

inventory, cash, equipment, and other Goodwill assets. This duty is performed weekly, about 5% of the

time.

  • Provide oversight and backup for communicating with the workers' compensation representative to

assure they are receiving paperwork on time and to inquire if there are other problems that should be

addressed. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

  • Regular reports to upper management related to general liability. This duty is performed as needed,

about 10% of the time.

  • Partners with corporate workgroups (e.g., Donated Goods, Human Resources, Finance, etc.) and

local law enforcement to resolve investigations/audits pertaining to store losses. This duty is performed

daily, about 10% of the time.

  • Ensures the proper deployment, operation, and repairs of alarm, Employee Access System, and

Closed-Circuit TV equipment. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned

satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability

required.

Education And Experience

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g.

data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 12 to 18 months related

experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or equivalent

combination of education and experience.

Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

High School or equivalent.

Criminal background check required.

Working knowledge in areas of Asset Protection that includes causes of loss and solutions to prevent

such loss.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.

Some overnight in-state travel required.

Must possess a valid Arkansas driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Previous experience in interviewing or investigations and related licenses.
