Duration: 6 months internship - From August 2024 to February 2025 


Position Summary:


L'Alliance New York is currently looking for a Special Events Intern to join its passionate team.


Under the supervision of the Special Events Manager, the intern will assist the Special Events team to coordinate both the content and the logistics of L'Alliance New York’s special events within the framework of the Development Department’s mission, which is to raise funds for L'Alliance New York and cultivate our patrons. This position plays an important role in coordinating our special events and assisting our development efforts. 


Duties and Responsibilities:


·       Assist the special events team on the following events: Trophée des Arts Gala, Members Holiday Party, Fall Open House, and others as assigned. 

·       Brainstorm and support with creating presentations and communication materials for events and special projects. 

·       Research, liaise and secure auctions donations. Manage relationships with both auction donors and winners pre and post event. 

·       Manage prospects list of potential partners and solicitation outreach.

·       Create an effective project management system to successfully oversee the end-to-end events process from planning to delivery.

·       Support on-site event execution and coordination including handling the logistics, managing lists, and working with external vendors.

·       Remain flexible to support the special events team, including weekends and evenings if needed. Must be able to support in the planning and execution through different work areas.


Please note that the above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your role within the organization and the overall business objectives of L'Alliance New York.


Qualifications/Requirements:


·       A high school diploma or equivalent; currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies.

·       Experience in events organization preferred

·       Strong organizational skills: the ability to multitask and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office; including PPT, Word, Outlook, and Excel.

·       Precise eye for detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

·       Strong written and oral communication skills.

·       Enthusiastic and comfortable communicating with donors.

·       Ability to take initiative and use creative problem-solving skills

·       Knowledge of French preferred

·       Availability to attend a few evening events at/with FIAF

·       Positive attitude, team player, sense of humor
