This position will be a strategic part of the hotel's revenue team. The responsibilities of this individual are designed to improve group & event revenues and enhance yielding of hotel function space and guest room inventory. The successes will be measured by increased top line revenues of rooms and events revenues. This individual will analyze short- and long-term forecasting as well as implement function space and guest room block controls to ensure effective yield of guest room and meeting room space.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate availability, pattern, pricing, and placement of guest rooms and function space.
  • Assign and block function space.
  • Review all space requests.
  • Review historical space usage by groups to ensure accurate projections for space, guest rooms, and food and beverage.
  • Review contractual terms of function space.
  • Participate actively in Daily Business Review sessions to offer advice on effective space revenue management decisions.
  • Monitor on a daily basis sales and events activities, ensuring adherence to booking guidelines and responding promptly to new leads.
  • Monitor daily changes of function space within definite bookings.
  • Conduct regular audits of function space to ensure there are no space conflicts / resolve space conflicts.
  • Proactively reach out to groups with confirmed bookings further in advance to solidify relationships and gather updated requirements.

The salary range for this position is $76,700 - $115,300. This is the pay range for this position that Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

Qualifications

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, along with sharp analytical skills
  • Must have 2-3 years of hotel sales, events or revenue experience.
  • Proficiency in general computer knowledge, particularly Microsoft Excel, is essential.
  • Training in selling, negotiating, business writing, and presentation skills are a plus.
