Intro And Job Overview

As a Travel and Purchasing Manager within the Procurement team, you will be accountable for the travel category including supporting company global events, as well as additional categories such as Marketing, HR and more related sourcing activities as required by the team including sourcing, supplier relationship management, policy improvements, responsible for the credit card program, etc. This is a highly visible position impacting employees in most regions. There will be immediate focus on supporting the implementation of a new travel agency and system. Work requires contact and communication internally with staff and externally with partners and suppliers.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Work closely with the travel agency to ensure best business practices, service levels and competitive pricing are achieved as well as lead implementation of Concur travel management system globally.
  • Build strong relationships with internal business partners to understand the needs and identify opportunities to increase quality and improve value for money.
  • Perform procurement reporting and analysis of spend data to identify potential improvement opportunities.
  • Plan and execute effective negotiation strategies and competitive processes with vendors to best position the company for success.
  • Address vendor issues to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors and product innovations.
  • Support your business partners with supplier selection, negotiation and the contracting process including reviewing terms and negotiating the final execution of the contract
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, or related field. 3-5 years of experience in purchasing and global travel and events management, preferably in a global technical product delivery organization.
  • You have knowledge of global travel and ability to improve and stay updated with the latest trends and changes.
  • Network within the travel industry to gain insight into market trends, new initiatives and benchmarking data.
  • Experience with Global Corporate Credit Card programs
  • Indirect Sourcing Category experience
  • You have the experience in providing travel services to stakeholders including travel planning and ad-hoc problems solving.
  • Experience with managing global events category, including negotiating terms and contract review.
  • You have a track record of positively engaging internal stakeholders and business partners.
  • You have strong relationship building and communication skills and have experience navigating conversations at all levels of the business to include C-Suite and their direct reports.
  • Availability to work in a global company including supporting other time zones as required.
