In this role, you will work on the bench and contribute to completing crucial data packages for target validation that will enable our novel therapeutics to go from bench to bedside. As a Scientist, you will independently design, implement and troubleshoot cell-based assays for validating Sonata’s novel targets using different perturbation technologies and various downstream readouts, including molecular and immunological assays. You will also be responsible for molecular cloning, genetic material and viral vector preparation, generation and quality control of stable cell lines for supporting in vivo target validation efforts. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Sonata Therapeutics offers the challenge and opportunity to work at an early-stage, big concept biotechnology company. You will gain experience in novel drug development from discovery to clinic and make an impact on the lives of patients and caregivers. You will develop expertise in cancer research and drug development.

You will be making a significant impact by...

  • Molecular cloning of single genetic payloads and pooled libraries into delivery vectors
  • High quality DNA and lenti-virus preparation and quality control for single genetic payloads and pooled libraries
  • Cell line generation, characterization and optimization using molecular biology techniques, immunological assays and FACS
  • Design, optimization and execution of cell-based assays to validate targets using different perturbation modalities (transient transfection of siRNA, transduction of lenti-virus, small molecules) and different readouts (images, flow cytometry, qPCR, and ELISA)
  • Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to drive target validations efforts in accordance with timelines, assisting other members of the team as needed.
  • Contributing scientifically and culturally to a dynamic and rapidly growing research organization.

As an excellent candidate, you will possess...
