The Solar Field Manager Position

Sunnova Energy is searching for Solar Field Manager to work in the Sunnova New Homes department. This role will be responsible for managing the project cycle and coordinating multiple residential PV projects from start to finish. The Solar Field Manager will also serve as a liaison to construction managers, trade partners, and the Project Manager for assigned Communities.

Solar Field Manager Responsibilities

  • Tracks and reports the build and quality process of each home within assigned communities in the region.
  • Reads and reviews Solar Plot plans and architectural files for any conflicts.
  • Manages the permit submittals to the Authority Having Jurisdiction (“AHJ”); accurately recording status of application.
  • Manages trade partners through any necessary repairs during the build schedule; ensures that trade partners are adhering to OSHA guidelines.
  • Completes project audit to ensure successful completion; reviews internal files to ensure home was installed and commissioned prior to close of escrow.
  • Demonstrates control and knowledge of workloads for Field operations team and identifies the need for staffing resources to Director of Operations in advance.
  • Evaluates installer capacity and makes recommendations for work assignments.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education required: HS Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 5 years solar installation or residential construction experience
  • Basic understanding of Sunnova products and processes
  • Knowledge of permit submittal process at local Jurisdictions
  • Understanding of Solar and electrical codes and ability to deal with AHJ and City inspectors
  • Valid driver’s license with clean motor vehicle record

  • Expert knowledge of Sunnova’ s products

Additional Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to identify, track and correct quality issues with installation partners
  • General understanding of OSHA guidelines & internal reporting procedures
  • Strong sense of urgency; ability to quickly reprioritize tasks as required with changing circumstances.
  • Ability to work with multiple Departments within the company to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify quality & safety issues and report effectively to superior

Working Conditions

  • Remote-office environment
  • 75 – 100% Travel within assigned region
