Software Engineering Manager

Location: New York, NY (4 days onsite)

Full time, salaried position.

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and "Hands On" Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team. In this role, you will lead and coordinate multiple projects. Your primary focus will be on leading and managing a team of highly ambitious, extremely skilled engineers and project managers, cultivating a supportive, innovative development culture, executing effective strategies, and ensuring timely project completion.

Responsibilities:

● Lead and manage the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

● Coordinate multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they are delivered on schedule and meet high-quality standards.

● Develop and implement efficient processes and effective strategies to drive engineering excellence.

● Collaborate closely with various IT and business teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

● Research and develop innovative products that enhance our commercial lending capabilities.

● Oversee the recruitment and career development of engineers and contributors.

● Maintain a strong foundation in software design and development of customer-oriented platforms.

Skills and Qualifications:

● 2+ years in leading engineering teams while making direct coding contributions

● 4+ years in a software engineering individual contributor role using some combination of React, Typescript, and Python.

● Solid foundation in software architecture and experience developing resilient and scalable web platforms.

● Strong analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.

● Excellent communication skills for overseeing staff and collaborating with other management personnel.

● Experience with the full application development lifecycle, taking a product from concept through development and deployment into maintenance and support.
