What you need to know about the role: This is a Recent Graduate full-time role. We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, highly productive Software Engineer for Merchant Engineering team to lead end-to-end testing and certification of various customer-facing and backend components within the PayPal platform. You will be developing and executing automated tests to bring efficiency to the test execution, and you will have the opportunity to work with several teams within PayPal to solve complex problems and champion quality at all stages of our software development lifecycle. Meet our team: The Merchant Engineering is a global team with having presence in multiple locations and different time zones, one of our roles is to certify merchant products. Our team is passionate about bringing in high-quality integration experience to our merchants and partners.

Job Description:
Your way to impact

This team is responsible for keeping the merchant platform reliable and scalable for servicing all merchants and partners across the world. You will be playing a major role in ensuring the utmost quality and reliability of our merchant platforms ensuring that our merchants and partners can integrate without any issues.

Your day to day

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify testing requirements for new features.
  • Prepare test plans and test cases and execute tests.
  • Contribute to the automation frameworks to extend its capabilities to support new features.
  • Automate and maintain test cases to improve test coverage and for future regression runs.
  • Enforce and follow standard coding practices by conducting thoughtful code reviews.
  • Develop and communicate process improvements, standards, and best practices to the team.
  • Provide periodic updates on the project status to all the project stakeholders.
  • Hand off projects to team members in different time zone.


What Do You Need To Bring-
  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science or equivalent (this is a recent graduate position, must have graduated within the last 12 months).
  • Strong understanding of the product
  • Strong problem-solving, analytics, multitasking and debugging skills.
  • Strong experience in defining and executing test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
  • Hands-on experience in Software test automation with Java, Selenium.
  • Hands-on experience in automating and maintaining API and UI test cases.
  • Hands-on experience in Rest APIs, Java, Python, Node JS, React JS, and HTML/CSS.
  • Experienced in tools such as Postman.
  • Experienced in defect management tools such as Jira.
  • Experienced in source code management such as GIT.
  • Experienced in Jenkins, understanding of ECI/ECD pipelines.
  • Experienced in leading and collaborating with the team in multiple time zones.
  • Experience in Node JS, React JS application development is a plus.

Spring 2024, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or

related field from an accredited college or university.
