Advances in AI and LLMs are changing the way the world searches, and Objective is the platform that will bring the power of AI-native search to every website and app. The Role We are hiring a Senior Front End / Full Stack software engineer to build AI-first products. Experience working with machine learning projects is appreciated but not required for this role; we are looking for engineers with grit and an interest in AI who are looking to learn on the job. You should be excited about shipping quickly, often and building systems from scratch. You will work closely with experienced machine learning scientists to develop and ship cutting-edge tooling, and user-facing products. You'll develop our customer facing product, as well as internal tools to enable our team to provide an excellent customer experience and iterate on the quality of our ML systems. This involves building: Customer facing user interfaces leveraging our APIs Admin app features to enable product & customer success to serve customers APIs to enable internal and external users to integrate with these systems Internal tooling for iterating on search system quality and data You'll be joining an A+ team & will be critical to helping the team iterate and develop a product our customers love. You are compassionate and help others around you You enjoy working across the stack, building APIs and UIs to accomplish goals You can quickly hit the ground running, map out challenges and opportunities and develop a plan to improve things in the short and long term You have strong ownership of any task that you take on, driving it to success whether or not you've done it before You can cut through ambiguity and deliver amazing results even when there isn't a lot of guidance You are always looking for better ways of doing things, trying out new tools and processes You form meaningful relationships wherever you go: people respect and like you because you value them You seek continuous feedback from those around you and are willing to share feedback across all levels of the company Requirements & Skills 4+ years experience as a Front End / Full Stack engineer Working on a production, customer facing system You have demonstrated ability to quickly deliver project results in previous work Experience building accessible components Familiar with React Server Components and how to efficiently use them Has a good eye for design and UX Experience designing and implementing customer facing APIs Nice to have - You have some basic affinity or interest in machine learning / deep learning / artificial intelligence. Bonus points if you've worked on search or ML related products. Live/work in U.S. time zone, minimum is PST+-3hrs. We have an office in San Francisco, but most of the team is remote. Tech Stack 3+ working years Next.Js (React meta framework), TypeScript, NodeJs, Tailwind, Backend Node (NextJS) Experience with Next.Js 13/14 3+ years of working with relational databases Nice to have 3+ working with Python and Python backend frameworks like Django, Flask, etc. Nice to have Planetscale (MySQL), Vercel, Serverless/Edge functions or Prisma Benefits Competitive salary and equity.
