As a Software Engineer in the Gaming Devices + AI Engineering team, you will be developing automation and test tooling for the next generation of Gaming Hardware. By combining Cloud services with IoT Edge and Artificial Intelligence Edge systems, you will create the next generation of scalable, extensible, and secure HW Qualification solutions used within Xbox and other teams. You will build skills in a breadth of technologies, stay at the forefront of industry hardware, and engage with all aspects of gaming to make a truly immersive experience for all our gaming family and customers.

Responsibilities
The Xbox Device Validation Team is seeking a Software Engineer with a systems and firmware background to join our Services and Operations Group. This group is responsible for end-to-end execution service, engineering processes, and SW tools for the org. As such, you will be engaged with the entire team with exposure to all levels of technology from firmware to test apps to reporting and data analytics. This is a great opportunity for a team player who wants to collaborate across disciplines with an always learning approach, who enjoys working on a variety of solutions from all levels of technology, and who can look at problems as just another thing we haven’t looked at yet.

Required/Minimum Qualifications
This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.
Ability to meet Microsoft, costumer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/tranter and every two years thereafter.

Joining Our Team, You Can Expect To
- Collaborate with hardware and firmware development teams to create validation tools for Xbox console and accessory hardware and firmware.
- Build end-to-end automation to validate Xbox console and accessory hardware and firmware from infrastructure to test execution to reporting.
- Analyze effectiveness of existing Windows-based test apps and develop new ones as needed.
- Contribute to the development of test design and test infrastructure including new Artificial Intelligence analytic models.
- Participate actively in bug/issue triage with the feature teams.

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
