Responsibilities

  • Work with appropriate stakeholders to capture user requirements for a feature.
  • Identify dependencies, create, and drive sign-off of design document for a feature, with oversight.
  • Implement feature that meets existing coding standards and established patterns, with emphasis on reusing code where it makes sense.
  • Learn to break work down into smaller tasks and provide high-confidence time estimates.
  • Embrace a systematic approach to analysis and data-driven learning through experimentation

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience coding in C or C++.
Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
      • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working collaboratively with a team of engineers and a passion for learning on the job.
  • Experience in developing systems software.
  • Experience working on Win32 is a plus.
  • Experience working on highly scalable systems is a plus.
  • Experience with networking protocols and architecture is a plus.
  • A computer science background (BS degree or equivalent experience).

Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $81,900 - $160,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $105,600 - $174,600 per year.
