The Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Club’s brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park. The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This role is responsible for the planning, creation, and maintenance of the HDFC brands’ (Houston Dynamo, Houston Dash, Shell Energy Stadium, Houston Dynamo and Dash Charities, HDFC Youth Programs, etc.) social platforms. This role is essential to serving the Club’s fans with engaging creative and timely messaging to help realize growth marketing objectives across channels.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Create, plan and implement a comprehensive social media content plan to enhance the club’s brand presence, engagement, and storytelling across platforms.
  • Develop, curate, and manage engaging content daily across all club social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Actively engage with fans, respond to comments and messages, and manage the club’s online community
  • Design and execute social media campaigns around matches, special events, player storytelling, community initiatives, and other promotional opportunities.
  • Monitor, track, and report on social media performance metrics, using data to refine strategies and improve engagement.
  • Work closely with the marketing, PR, and creative teams to align social media content with the brand voice and style guidelines, overall marketing campaigns and club initiatives.
  • Maintain, enhance and protect the club’s voice and image across all social media channels.
  • Provide real-time social media coverage during matches, training, and events, ensuring timely and exciting updates
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices, ensuring the club remains at the forefront of digital innovation and storytelling.
  • Generate creative concepts and strategic solutions for partners and business units that are aligned with club brand standards based on trends, research, and best practices across social channels.
  • Supports Digital Marketing Director and Social Director with weekly metric tracking and content performance assessment.
  • Assist with cultivating high profile relationships to create authentic storytelling collaborations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience (or equivalent) in social media content management, preferably in the sports industry.
  • Working knowledge of major social media platforms, best practices and analytics tools.
  • Experience with producing social and vertical video content on social media platforms such as TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Stories, and Snapchat.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite, graphic design and video editing software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Slate)
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as the event calendar requires.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English language communication skills (written and verbal) preferred.
