The Social Media Manager is responsible for creating content such as press releases, blogs, and social media posts on behalf of our company. This role also involves monitoring media and newsletter campaign coverage, as well as attending internal and external events. Skills in writing, research, customer service, SEO, creativity, design, data analytics, and time management are essential. The person in this role must understand the process of creating content, scheduling its publication, developing a strategy, interacting with users, expanding reach, and monitoring the performance of a company's social media accounts.


Responsibilities:

  • Writing content for print and web, including the company website, blog, brochures, and newsletter.
  • Planning and implementing a social media strategy.
  • Drafting and editing copy and material.
  • Preparing presentations and reports.
  • Developing marketing campaigns for BCDI Ohio-led events.
  • Drafting and posting social media and web content according to the company's social media strategy.
  • Assisting the communications chair with the management of the company's external image.
  • Maintaining calendars and appointments.
  • Tracking projects and media exposure.
  • Updating media and newsletter contact lists.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
  • Analyzing engagement data and customer interactions to identify trends and refine content strategy.
  • Planning and managing digital campaigns, including paid social media campaigns, to build community online and expand revenue opportunities.
  • Working with influencers and partners for co-marketing initiatives.
  • Leading cross-functional projects that involve social media elements and guiding junior team members.


Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree; Bachelor's degree preferred in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • An understanding of social media strategies and media relations.
  • Creative and innovative.
  • Proficiency in office management software and design software such as Canva and Google Docs.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • The ability to multitask.
  • Great interpersonal skills.
  • Above average knowledge of various social media platforms, including LinkedIn Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
