Your impact

Handshake is hiring a part-time contract Social Media Content & Community Manager. Your goal will be to grow our engagement with our brand among college students, recent graduates, employers, education partners, and other relevant audiences.

You’ll manage the content concepting, writing, posting, and audience engagement across social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok focus) to raise brand awareness, and increase Handshake’s overall social engagement.

You’ll curate and manage our social channels to support our corporate communications and marketing team, reporting into the Senior Social Media Manager.

Your role

• Content concepting
• Contribute to the brainstorming and conceptualizing of compelling social content that resonates with our target audiences and aligns with brand goals
• Partner with the brand design team to bring content brief to life
• Responsible for project management of content concepts and tickets within Jira
• Community management
• Actively respond to and engage with our multiple audiences across various platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok in a timely manner in each relevant brand voice
• Nurture and grow social communities through proactive engagement on LinkedIn
• Partner with the corporate communications and support teams on any relevant escalations or customer service inquiries across channels
• Publishing content
• Schedule, publish, & maintain daily social media posts on LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok
• Content curation
• Source user-generated content and collect authentic student stories for marketing materials
• Partner with student content and community manager to source relevant social content to be featured within the Handshake app or relevant in-app content to be featured on social
• Research and reporting
• Leverage user insights from community management to fuel content ideas
• Measure, track, and optimize social content performance via data-driven decision-making
• Content brainstorming
• Provide new content ideas to the team for consideration across channels based off of community management, real-time trends, competitive audits, industry trends, and past performance
  

Your Experience

• 2-3+ years of creative social media content and community management experience
• Understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and content best practices
• Proficiency as a skilled writer, particularly in engaging multiple audiences and adopting brand voice across those audiences
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate in an empathetic yet concise manner
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to measure and interpret the impact of community management and content posts, leveraging data to optimize efforts
• Thriving in a fast-paced, data-centric environment, with a proactive communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Strong project skills with the ability to manage a project independently
• Must be available to work at least 2 hours per day during normal business hours (9-5 pm MST)
• Must be comfortable behind the camera for any potential TikTok or Instagram Reel needs
• Experience with Asana, Jira, and SproutSocial is a plus but not required

Compensation Range

• $35-45 per hour - commiserate based on experience, 15-20 hours per week for 3+ months
  
  

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
