Who are we looking for:

Woodard & Curran seeks a detail-oriented civil engineer to support various site-civil projects. Based in our Portland office, you will work with teams on projects primarily spanning five geographies in the northeast but with the opportunity to engage in exciting projects around the country. The successful candidate will work with client and project managers, technical specialists, and other engineers, supporting our clients on a wide range of site development, utility, and stormwater projects. You will work on challenging and unique projects in a highly collaborative environment.


Location: This opportunity offers a virtual office schedule. The successful candidate must travel as needed to the Portland, ME, office, and client sites. Also open to candidates near Portsmouth, NH.


What You Will Be Doing at Woodard & Curran:

  • Technical writing and communications with clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Site design, site grading, erosion & sediment control, and stormwater management design.
  • Working with designers to develop design plans.
  • Preparing local, state, and federal permit application packages.
  • Preparing specifications.
  • Construction administration.
  • Mentoring and delegating to staff-level engineers.
  • Delegating and managing project tasks to staff while overseeing total project delivery.
  • Enforcing and applying quality assurance and quality control processes.


What You Will Need To Succeed:

  • BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4-8 years’ experience with site-civil-related projects.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in any State
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and HydroCAD software preferred.


$77,000 - $90,000 a year

This position’s anticipated pay range is provided below; the final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will depend on experience level, and a percentage-based geographic differential will be considered based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials recognize and reflect the cost of labor differences between geographic markets.

  • Vacation time is provided to regular full-time and part-time employees. Vacation is accrued based on the hours worked per week and prior years of experience.
