Overview: As the Shop Foreman, you will play a crucial role in maximizing productivity, efficiency, and safety within our manufacturing facility. You'll lead a team of skilled personnel, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to the company's growth and competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of shop personnel to optimize productivity and maintain high standards of quality and safety
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Operational Excellence:
Collaborate with the Plant Manager to enhance production efficiency, process improvement, and on-time delivery
Maintain a daily whiteboard with clear job assignments and priorities, ensuring all employees are informed and prepared for their tasks
Technical Support and Training:
Provide technical expertise and guidance to machinists and production staff on programming, tool selection, and equipment setup
Actively engage on the shop floor, assisting with troubleshooting and ensuring efficient use of equipment
Resource Management:
Manage inventory of shop equipment, tooling, and materials to support safe and efficient operations
Coordinate with the management team to plan and execute production schedules that meet customer delivery requirements
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of programming, routing, tooling, and setup processes
Report on job progress and production metrics in weekly meetings, contributing to on-time project delivery
Continuous Improvement:
Lead 5S and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace organization, efficiency, and safety
Compliance and Communication:
Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, escalating issues as needed to senior management
Participate in employee discipline and performance reviews to uphold team
Requirements
Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment
Strong technical knowledge of machining processes and equipment
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Benefits
