Service Writer

Description

The Service Writer is responsible for providing support to the Service Manager, Service Team, and customers. Responsibilities include sending out seasonal work packets to all members, creating detailed work orders for all services, creating estimates for seasonal work and as needed, assisting the parts manager in identifying correct parts needed for jobs, reviewing timecards daily, scheduling work with all department managers, following up with customers to provide status updates, review all jobs once complete to ensure completion of work is satisfactory, and assisting department managers as needed.

Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.Technical and Physical Requirements

High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 2 years prior service marina experienceABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferredAbility to sit or stand for long periods of timeAbility to lift 20 poundsMinimum Soft Skills Qualifications
