Position Overview: The Senior Vice President of Finance will be a crucial member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations within the company. This role involves strategic financial planning, ensuring the financial health of the organization, and providing financial support to our franchisees. The SVP of Finance will report directly to the CFO and collaborate closely with other senior executives to foster growth and profitability across our property services franchise network, with a near-term opportunity to move into the CFO role.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
Develop and implement financial and capitalization strategies that align with the company’s long-term objectives and short-term needs.
Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and management team
Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) process, ensuring accurate forecasting and budgeting
Financial Operations Management:
Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies across all
Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial resources
Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and manage financial risks
Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets
Oversee insurance and risk management policies, ensuring adequate coverage
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
Build and maintain a high-performing finance team capable of supporting the company’s growth and franchise operations
Stakeholder Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for financial stakeholders, including investors, partners, lenders, auditors, and regulatory bodies
Prepare and present financial reports to the board of directors and other key stakeholders
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in a similar role.
Proven experience in strategic financial planning and execution
Strong knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, and financial regulations
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Exceptional leadership and team management abilities
Experience with mergers, acquisitions, roll-ups, recapitalizations and investor relations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the home improvement franchise business
Prefer 5 years in a senior leadership role within a multi-brand franchisor
Proven track record of driving financial performance and growth in a franchise environment
Experience with mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and investor relations
