Senior Vice President of Portfolio Operations/Support

This role is with a top-tier, middle-market private equity firm that is seeking to build out its internal portfolio support team. This individual will play a key role on the portfolio operations team, which focuses on value creation, operational improvements, board and management effectiveness, and resource management.

This individual will work with the rest of the portfolio support team, deal teams, and management teams within portfolio companies to develop and implement value creation plans, and assess areas of EBITDA improvements including strategic growth opportunities, operational improvements, and cost savings opportunities. The Senior Vice President will be able to facilitate strategic planning sessions and assist in the annual business plan development of the portfolio companies. This individual will demonstrate a results-driven orientation, change management experience, and persuasive ability. This individual must also be able to build consensus and draw on experience to influence others.


Geography: Candidates must be in the greater Boston area or New York City


Experience:

  • Management Consulting/Operations: 15+ years of combined experience in management consulting and/or operations with significant exposure to strategic matters.
  • Industry Sectors: Generalist experience across various sectors, including but not limited to Business Services, Industrials, Healthcare, and Software.

Core Expertise:

  • Sales Strategy & Marketing: Strong background in sales strategy, pricing, and product marketing.
  • Revenue Enhancement: Proven track record in customer strategy and marketing, pricing, and sales force effectiveness.
  • Cost Reduction: Expertise in direct procurement, supply chain management, and operational improvements.
  • Organizational Effectiveness: Skilled in assessing organizational structure and talent, with experience in redesigning for the execution of value creation plans.
  • Strategic Growth: Experience in identifying and executing strategic growth opportunities.
  • Operational/Portfolio Support: Prior experience in operational support or portfolio support is highly desirable.

Educational Background:

  • Technical Degree: An undergraduate technical degree with 5+ years post-undergrad experience at a top-tier consulting firm.
  • MBA: Required for this role.

Skills:

  • Technical Skills: Excellent technical skills and the ability to perform in-depth financial analysis to identify potential opportunities within the portfolio and individual portfolio companies.
  • Project & Change Management: Superior project management and change management skills to effectively execute on opportunities.
  • Communication & Influence: Strong communication and persuasive abilities to influence and build consensus among stakeholders.
  • Travel: Willing and able to travel to portfolio companies as required (approximately 30%-50%).
