Since 2011, the firm has acquired 41 multifamily residential properties in Florida and Texas containing over 10,100 apartment units. The firm has $1.1 billion of AUM in a portfolio of 24 multifamily properties, with more than 6,640 apartments in Dallas, Houston, Tampa, and Orlando. The firm’s executive team has over 250 years of combined experience in the real estate industry and a $600MM+ fundraising target for the next 24 months.

Position
The ideal candidate must be ready and excited to undertake independent market analysis to expand the company’s footprint and develop a pipeline around off-market and unconventional acquisition strategies. The candidate will report directly to the Managing Principals and collaborate closely with senior management across asset management, property operations, and construction. This leadership role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record of success in acquisitions and strong relationships in the company’s target markets.

Key Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate prospective multifamily acquisition opportunities based on the firm's investment criteria.
- Forge and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders in target markets, including brokers, property owners, investment managers, and other industry professionals, to enhance deal flow and originate investment opportunities.
- Maintain an opportunity pipeline, including off-market and market opportunities.
- Own and oversee the preparation of comprehensive financial underwriting models and business plans for potential acquisitions.
- Prepare documentation for presentation to the Investment Committee.
- Oversee the entire acquisition process, from deal sourcing and due diligence to closing, including team management, scheduling site visits, and coordinating with lenders and legal counsel.
- Collaborate with the Asset Management Team on acquisition financing in alignment with the firm’s strategy.
- Develop the acquisitions strategy & identify key focus areas for the Acquisitions Team, including opportunities to enter new markets.
- Negotiate purchase and sale agreements, entity formation, partnership agreements, and other legal documents with internal and external legal counsel. Collaborate with the Fund Management Team to prepare offering materials for JV opportunities.
- Leverage market analytics to identify emerging trends and inform strategic decision-making.
- Prepare hand-off of documents and relevant property information archive from Acquisitions to Operations, Construction, and Asset Management Teams.
- Participate in strategic planning and lead the execution of acquisition activities.
- Mentor and manage the acquisitions team.
- Implement best-in-class processes and procedures.
- Assist fund management, asset management, and capital raising teams in valuations, investment summaries, etc.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, with a proven track record of success in real estate acquisitions, focusing on multifamily properties (value-add and core plus, preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of real estate financial modeling and underwriting.
- Deep knowledge and connections to the Southern United States multifamily market, with an aptitude for leveraging market analytics to drive strategic decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to originate off-market multifamily transactions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assemble and lead an acquisitions team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Prior experience managing and leading acquisition teams.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with industry professionals.
- Willingness to travel to select domestic markets as necessary.
