We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Communications to join our Business Communications team. This role will be based in New York City, NY, in a hybrid model (3 days in the office).

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Advance the reputation of BNY as leading provider of asset servicing and liquidity financing and execution solutions provider.
  • Own and deliver an integrated communication strategy, with a focus on boosting top tier coverage opportunities across multimedia platforms, inclusive of broadcast and radio, as well as digital media and partner with our supporting agency on media relations strategy and tactics
  • Provide informed, professional and strategic counsel on issues that affect reputation, anticipating complex issues, challenges and opportunities and delivering solutions.
  • Be a great partner to our spokespeople to shape and refine their key messages ahead of media engagements and collaborating with other key stakeholders (such as marketing, sales, distribution, public affairs)
  • Extensive writing and messaging development, including press releases and affiliated communications plan documents in support of announcements, as well as other owned content in support of thought leadership and strategic business communications.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Solid track record of partnering with senior stakeholders, with the ability to advise and influence senior and executive leadership teams.
  • Have considerable and proven experience in developing and delivering effective communications strategies to support business objectives, drive commercial outcomes and engage colleagues.
  • Demonstrated track record of excellence in executing on a media relations strategy for a large, global financial services firm, inclusive of media outreach and collaboration with agencies
  • Strong commercial understanding, accomplished at supporting Financial Communications and a highly developed media network.
  • High-functioning, proactive individual who can prioritize multiple demands and handle challenging situations that may require adapting to changing requirements on a project
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills; effective presentation skills
  • 10-12 years of professional experience in media relations and corporate communications for a financial services firm
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of work experience required

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $119,000 and $221,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
