SVP – Commercial Sales

Our client has developed an AI-powered software which has the capability of transforming EMR data in a HIPAA-compliant manner. This data enables scientists and researchers to develop personalized treatments for patients globally.
Summary:
Given our client's growing US presence and the scaling interest of their customer base to adopt technology offerings, we are looking for a US based motivated SVP – Commercial to join our client's team. This role is primarily concerned with ensuring the commercial success of the organization. The role will require a combination of excellent people skills, strong experience in biotech, life sciences and pharma selling skills and sales team leadership. The SVP will own the customer interface and will work to ensure that all functions of the organization are aligned to meet our strategic commercial objectives. This role can be performed remotely, anywhere in the US, though approximately 50% travel may be required.
Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy:
Build short- and long-term strategies, plans and objectives in line with revenue targets
Monitor progress of the team and adjust actions accordingly
Work closely with senior leaders to refine and execute the strategy
Report commercial progress to the board of directors
Commercial Success:
Responsible for the implementation and achievement of the commercial mission, goals and financial objectives
Manage sales pipeline to ensure lead pipeline to reach targeted sales objectives
Interact with sales operations to drive a smooth process from initial to closing stage, utilizing a CRM system
Team:
Manage 8 plus sales professionals to drive all members to success
Maintain a climate that attracts, retains and motivates top sales talent
Cultivate a climate of impact, trust, collaboration and respect
Qualifications:
10+ years of sales leadership in pharma/ bio tech/life sciences with a science background
BA/BS, advanced degree preferred
Proven track record of leading a scale-up commercial growth trajectory
Experience selling to Pharma and Biotech companies
Experience in a commercial function having held executive roles in recognized innovative organizations
Experience with developing and executing commercial strategies
Experience with representing the commercial function at the executive level, as well as being an active contributor with your executive peers
Must possess strong strategic, leadership, analytical, organizational and negotiation skills
Energetic sales abilities including communication and presentation skills
Entrepreneurial with a willingness to identify and solve potential issues where precedents may be lacking
Passion for our client’s mission and the role you can play in bringing it to life every day
Understand life sciences, pharmaceutical and biotech R&D organizations’ methods and desired outputs
Comfort with ambiguity and a dynamic, fast-paced, culture, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
Must possess excellent analytical, conceptual, and business partnering skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships at all levels inside and outside the company
Ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks, and work both independently and as a team member, with a commitment to shared success
Be detail oriented, tech savvy, demonstrate critical thinking
