Overview Of Role & Qualifications

Westlake Financial is seeking to add a Senior Vice President, Accounting & Tax to serve as a strategic leader and decision maker that will drive the continued growth and success of our companies (over $4 billion in revenue and over 4,000 employees). The position will report directly to the President and oversee all accounting and tax functions at Westlake and our various subsidiaries. The position will be in office at our Hancock Park (Los Angeles) headquarters at 4751 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles CA.

Strategy & Change Management Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and driving the strategic vision of the Accounting & Tax departments.
  • Identify, implement and oversee process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Partner with other leaders within finance and the broader organization to drive collaboration, process improvements, automation and efficiency.
  • Develop industry skill set and participate in key decision making in conjunction with management and the board of directors.


Core Functional Responsibilities

  • Management of all aspects of the consolidation of the Company’s operating entities;
  • Oversight of accounting policy, including technical accounting assessments, and adoption of new accounting standards;
  • Provide counsel on accounting-related issues, disclosure obligations related to business transactions, and financial statements;
  • Review and analyze consolidated financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows and statement of unitholders’ equity in conformity with U.S. GAAP to ensure accuracy and for value-add decision making and suggestions.
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives;
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and requirements and provide accurate, timely, and useful management reports;
  • Oversee preparation of materials for management and audit committee meetings;
  • Manage and direct internal and external reporting requirements including GAAP financial statements, tax reporting including tax returns, and any other reporting or filing requirements;
  • Provide oversight for banking, treasury and capital markets reporting, including servicer reports performed by various departments & subsidiaries.


Other Qualifications

  • Certified public account – CPA (active not required)
  • Minimum 15 years experience, including at least 3 years experience in public accounting
  • Lending and/or financial services experience preferred;
  • Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems;
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Excel


Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred; CPA (active not required);


Total Salary & Bonus Range

$250,000 to $325,000
