Senior Underwriter -- Remote -- WFH --

Key Responsibilities

• Build and Cultivate Relationships: Develop and maintain a profitable book of business within an assigned high-volume territory, utilizing strong underwriting authority.
• Risk Evaluation: Analyze and evaluate complex accounts to determine appropriate risk selection and pricing strategies.
• Agency Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with agency partners, ensuring they receive exceptional customer service and support.
• Coverage Recommendations: Offer tailored coverage solutions for various exposures, communicating decisions effectively to agents.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with marketing representatives and branch management in agency planning and review processes.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters, supporting their professional development.
  
  

Requirements

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in insurance or business administration preferred, along with a minimum of five years' experience in commercial lines underwriting. Industry designations such as CPCU are advantageous.
• Skills & Abilities:
• Proficient in underwriting and risk analysis.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a track record of making informed decisions.
• Excellent customer service skills, prioritizing client satisfaction.
• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to diverse audiences.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to work collaboratively or independently as needed.
• Previous experience in delivering presentations is a plus.
• Occasional travel may be required; a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report is necessary if traveling.
