Senior Technical Designer, Wovens

Aimé Leon Dore is looking for a Sr. Technical Designer to join our team in person, in New York, NY reporting to our SVP of Product. This position will manage all woven categories: outerwear, tailoring, bottoms and shirts. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage Men’s woven categories, with minor supervision from initial design hand off to production approval stage.
• Partner with SVP of Product on all TD deliverables ensuring continuous communication and adherence to the design, development and production calendar.
• Follow up sample status and schedule fittings
• Create tech packs, specs and construction detail diagram and mockups.
• Maintain and update accuracy of tech packs
• Lead fit sessions on live model and take notes of fittings
• Identify fit and construction issues and propose solutions to solve.
• Issue full production grading in a timely manner
• Oversee and mentor additional Technical Designers within the woven category, providing development and support
• Communicate detailed technical notes with external vendors to ensure fit integrity is maintained.
• Maintain internal WIP to ensure cross functional teams are aware of fit and approval status throughout the development process.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in Technical Design, focused in men’s woven categories
• Strong understanding of outerwear and tailoring a must
• Understanding of wash effects on garment fit a plus
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
• Expert Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a high-volume, rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex fit adjustments to external partners effectively
• Must be organized and illustrate a keen attention to detail

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
