SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER

QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD to support our C5ISR Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Division contract.

This role will provide technical expertise and systems engineering capabilities in the area of Electromagnetic Warfare to analyze technical problems and possible solutions, provide recommendations to leadership, engage industry and partner organizations involved with similar activities, and execute 'ownership' for various capabilities within a complex software program.

Duties

  • Assist the Government with creating, editing, and reviewing technical documentation to include, but not limited to, program plans, acquisition documentation, specifications, manuals, technical guides, and memos.
  • Provide technical support to and coordination with functional areas/matrix support groups (i.e., architecture, systems engineering, design, testing, configuration management, logistics, producibility, integrated product/process development, quality assurance, reliability, maintainability, fielding, training, operation, maintenance, etc.) as applicable to individual programs.
  • Analyze program technical products (drawings, reports, product specifications) and perform technical studies/assessments as required.
  • Perform non-recurring engineering studies and analyses to evaluate the viability of potential solutions to various technical problems, such as how systems might be integrated.
  • Serve as a technical manager with internal/external developer teams within an Agile development process to guide development and design choices, balancing user needs and program constraints
  • Responsible for collaborating with other gov agencies, support orgs, and contractors
  • Develop, analyze and manage system-level and software-level requirements and interfaces.
  • Perform requirements analysis and definition, as well as allocation, decomposition and traceability.
  • Assist with maintaining, managing and integrating requirements between various tools.
  • Engage in model-based system engineering activities
  • Represent PdM EWI in technical and programmatic exchanges to refine concepts, use cases, and system requirements for new capabilities and features.
  • Review and provide input to requirements, specifications, reviews, and presentations material.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) and/or Assured Position, Navigation, and Timing (APNT) understanding and implementation within the DoD.
  • DoD and Army data exchange and message structure and operational use cases
  • Electromagnetic Warfare operations (Army and Joint).
  • Experience with Agile software development processes and ability to identify user needs and trace them to functions for development efforts.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Java, a plus.
  • Familiarity with Army Acquisition activities, especially within a Product Manager office.
  • Detailed-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Required Clearance

  • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in related field required.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience as a systems engineer and/or a related field.

Travel

10-15% travel is expected for this position.

Work Environment

This position will be co-located with the customer and other contractors in Government office spaces.

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work

This is a full‐time position, Monday through Friday. Flexibility around core hours. Travel may occur outside of normal core hours.
