Job Purpose: The HTTP-DEV team is responsible for a primary caching technology here at Edgio and large parts of the ecosystem that support it. If you have an interest in distributed computing, extreme scale, and performance then you would find our problem space interesting.

Essential Functions:

• Developing software that is the heart of the content delivery network
• Maintaining and deploying software onto the content delivery network
• Working on developing and delivering new products and protocols to support customers needs
• Troubleshooting complex problems across thousands and thousands of machines
• Diagnosing and monitoring performance issues at massive scale
• Communicating with various stakeholders and support teams

Qualifications

Experience and Education:

• Computer Science, Engineering degree, or equivalent work experience
• 5-7 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer
• Experience with significant scale of machines and customers

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Great working knowledge of C++
• Proficiency with one or more scripting languages: Bash, Python, Perl
• Experience with various networking protocols and technologies at multiple layers of the OSI stack
• Proficiency with WebPKI
• Experience working with various web server technologies such as Apache, Nginx, and Envoy
• Good knowledge of databases
• Extensive experience with Linux and its networking stack
• Familiarity with debugging and static analysis tools
