As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of our firm. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, provide insightful financial analysis, and support strategic decision-making processes. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, investment management, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and financial forecasts, providing variance analysis and actionable insights to management.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions. Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Investment Accounting: Manage accounting for investment portfolios, including valuation, performance measurement, and reporting.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes and systems for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the investment management industry or working with investment management clients.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
- Relevant work experience in revenue accounting or a similar field.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Diligence and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
