Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Senior Reporter/Production Editor role at BuiltWorlds located in Chicago, IL. The Senior Reporter/Production Editor will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with creating content for and helping to produce our expanding array of topic-oriented newsletters, including researching and reporting on new trends, securing interviews with a mix of member and non member sources, partnering with research analysts to develop stories based on their research and conference sessions topics, managing sponsored content, and creating multimedia content to engage with our audience. The right candidate is capable of both sides of this role - as a reporter, producing compelling written news stories in a timely and accurate manner across our various topic-focused newsletters, website and in our social media feeds; and as an editor, copy editing articles and writing headlines, managing writers and the editorial calendar, and publishing content and newsletters.

Qualifications

• Strong reporting skills including ability to conduct research, interviews and fact check information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including knowledge on AP style writing.
• Writing and news writing skills.
• Multimedia skills, including experience with photography, social media, digital storytelling and other multimedia platforms.
• Experience creating content for a business audience in real estate, architecture, engineering, construction, sustainability, building and infrastructure operations, energy transition, technology, global business, and investments
• At least 5-7 years of experience in journalism or a related field, with strong reporting, writing, and multimedia skills.
• Experience with Wordpress or similar blogging application, Hubspot or similar CRM, and Adobe.
• Experience editing news, managing an editorial calendar and publishing content
