Position Summary:

My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior R&D Manager to lead their research and development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food science, product development, and project management, coupled with a passion for innovation and sustainability in the food industry.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:

  • Mentor and lead a multidisciplinary R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and develop R&D strategies aligned with the company’s business goals and market needs.
  • Oversee project management, ensuring timely and successful completion of R&D projects.


Product Development:

  • Drive the development of new food products from concept to commercialization.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, consumer preferences, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Collaborate with marketing, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure new products meet regulatory standards, safety requirements, and consumer expectations.


Research & Innovation:

  • Lead research initiatives to explore new technologies, ingredients, and processes.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and scientific advancements.
  • Develop partnerships with academic institutions, suppliers, and industry organizations to drive innovation.


Technical Expertise:

  • Apply advanced knowledge of food science and technology to solve complex product development challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including food safety, quality, and labeling.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to optimize product formulations and processes.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or related field. Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) preferred.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in R&D within the food industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven track record of successfully bringing new food products to market.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and quality assurance in food production.


Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of food science, product development, and food safety regulations.
