ABB Growth Industries NAM supplies integrated control solutions using ABB/GE controls and third-party components. We provide process control, design, and commissioning services. The role involves hands-on technical support and standard engineering practices under the direction of an Engineering Manager and Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
Lead design and engineering activities for integrated process and electrical control solutions.
Interpret control lists, drawings, P&IDs, electrical one-lines, and specifications.
Develop controls packages, including electrical design and sequence of operations.
Program controllers and HMI applications using ABB and third-party control/PLC systems.
Configure HMI terminals and design field communications using industry-standard bus protocols.
Work independently or as part of a team to develop functional design specifications, support system tests, installation, startup, and commissioning.
Provide ongoing support to clients, including being on call as needed.
Must-Have Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in chemical, process, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
7+ years of experience in controls and HMI work, configuring control software and hardware, control panel design, BoM and submittal experience, control programming, and data center EPMS products.
Experience in light and heavy industry control applications, AC & DC motors, and drive systems.
Knowledge of process line control principles, particularly in the steel industry.
Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience with AC & DC motors, DC motor digital SCR drives, and AC motor digital IGBT drives.
Proven project execution experience.
Preferred Experience (Not Required):
ABB 800xA, AC800M, AC500, Allen Bradley programming, GE DC2000, GE UC2000, ACS880 drives.
Position/speed/torque controls, GE/Emerson Series 90-70, 90-30, RX3i PLCs, GE Genius I/O, Versamax IO.
Industry-standard communication protocols (ModBus, TCP, Ethernet, ProfiNet, Profibus).
ABB Process Panel/CP600, PanelView HMI programming.
System integration, automation, electrical controls design, VFD integration, site startup, and troubleshooting.
