Senior Production Manager

Job Purpose

  • To design and develop advanced production systems and planning processes through continuous improvement and technology development.
  • To mentor, develop, and train internal talents to adapt to the most up-to-date system bundling processes.
  • To plan and manage the department's budget effectively.
  • To establish and nurture a positive department culture and structure.
  • To create and envision department goals and values aligned with corporate strategy.
  • To manage and grow the Technical Assembly Department.

Structure

The Senior Production Manager oversees a team of team leaders and production staff.

Responsibilities

  • Production System and Planning Process Development:
  • Design and develop production systems and planning processes through continuous improvement and technology advancements.
  • Ensure best practices are developed, documented, and implemented across the department.
  • Research and define optimal production systems and preparation processes, including planning and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and project teams to align bundling and preparation processes based on best practices, driving capacity scheduling requirements to support project timelines.
  • Define and prepare production schedules through capacity planning and load planning in coordination with the Order Fulfillment and Project teams, and cross-functional areas as needed.
  • Innovate manufacturing processes through technology and continuous improvement.
  • Establish best practices encompassing performance drivers such as safety, quality, and delivery.
  • Perform problem-solving to eliminate abnormalities and strengthen best practices.
  • Talent Development:
  • Create production system and planning guidelines, policies, and user interfaces to assist production staff.
  • Lead talent development initiatives focused on best practices and continuous improvement in production systems and planning processes.
  • Foster engagement and ownership among production staff, promoting initial problem-solving skills.
  • Develop training mechanisms and curricula for continuous learning and talent development.
  • Enhance incentive and skills-based compensation structures to boost motivation and growth.
  • Budget Planning and Management:
  • Manage recruitment and headcount resource allocation for the System & Preparation Department.
  • Plan and manage the department's annual budget and expenses.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with the Engineering team on capital planning and requirements.
  • Promote continuous learning and education to grow talent and enhance people engagement.
  • Department Culture and Structure:
  • Continuously improve the structure and effectiveness of the department.
  • Develop a culture aligned with manufacturing and corporate strategy and objectives.
  • Foster a positive energy and attitude in an open manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure adherence to work practices, ethics, and codes of conduct.
  • Encourage idea sharing and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Promote a team-oriented culture and develop a cohesive department structure.
  • Department Goals and Values:
  • Plan and manage the department’s vision, strategy, and future roadmap.
  • Develop and set department objectives and measurable targets aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to ensure alignment and correct expectations across functional areas.
  • Work with Manufacturing teams to plan and schedule activities for Preparation Modules.
  • Partner with the Engineering team to align and implement best practices through existing product improvements and new product introductions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or Certificate in a technical discipline related to Engineering, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum of 8 years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably garment-related.
  • Expertise in production systems and planning processes.
  • Proficiency in material cutting and handling processes, particularly in automatic material transformation and handling.
  • In-depth knowledge of garment quality standards and systems.
  • Familiarity with garment-related machinery and equipment specifications and requirements.
  • Ability to interpret specification drawings, including technical data packages and specifications.
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Comprehensive manufacturing management skills.
  • Proficiency with personal computers.
  • ERP experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and Industrial WorkSafe regulations is an asset.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is an asset.
