At Caterpillar’s Sanford, NC facility, we manufacture and assemble Compact Track Loaders. In this role as a Senior Production Manager , you will be primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, supporting staff, and future planning of all shifts. As a member of the Manufacturing Operations team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. What You Will Do
Manage staffing, development, and performance management programs for operations staff; managing, motivating, and developing management team.
Oversee operations activities, ensuring that safety, and schedules and performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively.
Drive improvements for overall operations performance and implementing production safety, cost, and quality control mechanisms.
Ensure the compliance of all regulatory guidelines, safety policies / process and operational excellence.
Skills
What skills you will have:
Planning and Organizing : Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
Performance Management : Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
Manufacturing Operations : Knowledge of manufacturing operations including in paint; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.
Manufacturing Safety : Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, the environment and site.
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Bachelor’s degree OR 5 years of manufacturing experience.
Robotic manufacturing experience
7 or more years’ experience in manufacturing and leadership roles
Experience managing teams to production, budgetary, and efficiency targets.
Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or other similar roles including the Military.
Experience with powdercoat systems, liquid paint systems, pre-treat chemical application, shot blast operations.
Experience in multiple manufacturing support disciplines.
Six Sigma Greenbelt.
Thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes.
