Senior Product Manager

Our client is a prominent Global leader in the hospitality industry, dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences with over 1,000 subsidiaries and affiliated brands. With a commitment to innovation and personalized service, they are seeking a Sr. Product Manager to join their team immediately.

They are committed to enhancing data accessibility and management across their ecosystem by selecting and implementing an enterprise-wide data catalog. This initiative is pivotal to their global success, providing seamless data access and empowering organizational insights and decision-making.

This role will be 1 day on-site in Chicago.

Position Overview:

They are seeking a proactive and insightful Sr. Product Manager to lead their Data Catalog initiative. In this role, you will guide the project from concept to execution, sitting at the intersection of data governance and technology. Collaborate with diverse teams, including Data, IT, and business units, to ensure the data catalog effectively supports their business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the data catalog, aligning it with their overall data strategy.
• Work with a dedicated team of data engineers, data scientists, solution architects, and business partners to implement the data catalog.
• Facilitate the integration of the data catalog with existing data systems and platforms, enhancing data discoverability and usability across the organization.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with software vendors and service providers to deploy robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
• Drive adoption of the data catalog across the organization through workshops, training sessions, and strategic adoption plans.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy policies throughout the cataloging process, aligning with their ethical standards and legal requirements.
• Utilize project management skills to maintain timelines, budget, and resource allocation, ensuring efficient project execution and delivery.
• Regularly report on project progress, challenges, and milestones to senior management and stakeholders.

Technical Must-Haves:

• Minimum of 5 years as a Product Manager or Project Manager with a proven track record in managing or implementing enterprise or consumer software, particularly in data catalogs or data management systems.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with data cataloging tools such as Atalion, Atlan, Data.world, or Informatica EDC.
• Practical experience with Snowflake and understanding its integration with data cataloging systems.
• Deep understanding and knowledge of data governance tools and best practices.
• Proficient in using ETL tools and coding for data transformation and loading processes.
• Expertise in vendor/software selection and working effectively with vendors.
• Demonstrated ability to lead implementation projects from inception to completion.
• Ability to drive adoption and ensure projects are properly scoped and executed.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Capable of owning the strategy and driving the adaptation and implementation of projects.
• Comfortable with being deeply involved in the details of the project.
• Takes full ownership of their work and responsibilities.
