Job Overview

The Senior Producer is both a leadership and hands-on, creative producer role. In terms of leadership, you’ll be responsible for partnering with the Executive Producer to formalize and implement a modern approach to content production, resulting in high-caliber and efficient work. You’ll be a voice within the agency and help usher clients along the production process, instilling confidence. You’ll mentor producers and provide ongoing training as needed. In addition, you’ll help foster and grow our content offering through defining and advocating for our capabilities and increasing revenue on projects.

As a senior producer, you’ll partner with cross-functional teams to scope and help develop video and content needs, which could include broadcast, stills, animation, branded content, branded entertainment, experiential, social, mobile and emerging platforms. As a hands-on collaborator, the role will also produce creative deliverables on time and on budget. It’s a big job with projects that are often juicy.

Responsibilities
  • Help define the direction and evolution of the agency’s video and content production offering in partnership with the Executive Producer
  • Contribute to the overall approach of taking a creative assignment and turning it into gold
  • Define project scopes via budgets and timelines, as well as assess the feasibility of producing a project within a given budget and schedule parameters
  • Work with creatives, account management, project management, media and other staff, as well as outside vendors, to execute work to the highest quality possible
  • Partner with strategists, brand leadership and brand experience groups to develop comprehensive go-to-market recommendations and scopes of work for clients
  • Partner with digital producers, creative technologists and experiential producers on multi-faceted, innovative and immersive content as needed Take the lead in putting forward the best production partners for each project, including directors, editors, photographers, music companies, VFX companies and other specialists
  • Negotiate and manage all aspects of production budgets and schedules Work with the project manager and account team to coordinate all agency and client approvals
  • Lead the development of pre-bid decks, director decks, pre-production deliverables and production books
  • Ensure finished projects are delivered in a timely manner and in a proper format
  • Oversee arrangements for all production-related travel
  • Approve all agency travel expenses and vendor invoices
  • Catalogue final as-produced scripts, completion reports and digital files
  • Work closely with the Business Affairs Manager to keep accurate, current records of contracts, purchase orders, releases, licenses and other production paperwork for each project
  • Understand basic contractual agreements, asset licensing, and various talent contracts

Required Skills
  • Fluent in the entire broadcast, content production & post-production process
  • Expert in delivering agreed upon outputs on time and within a variety of budgets. Budgets could range from $10K to $1M within a given client.
  • Future-forward, innately curious, and flexible mindset, always up for figuring out new ways of doing things as the ad industry evolves Active contributor to both strategic and creative discussions
  • Capable of outside-the-box thinking, passionate about creative, memorable work
  • Ability to interact well with other agency departments, clients and vendors
  • Capacity to work under pressure and maintain a productive attitude
  • Willingness to assume other roles on challenging projects with limited budgets
  • Understanding of the client’s marketing objectives and media plan
  • Adept at handling numerous projects and tasks in varying levels of complexity
  • Proficient in vendor negotiations
  • Strong mentorship and training skills to help groom and grow talent

Qualifications
  • 7 or more years of production experience within ad industry and/or production companies
  • Award-winning portfolio of work that encompasses a broad range of content (broadcast, video, branded entertainment, social, animated, emerging content)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel as needed
