As a Senior Policy Advisor, You Will
- Advise the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Financial Stability Oversight Council of emerging issues and problems involving financial institutions, financial markets or macro trends that could impact financial stability or other matters before the Council.
- Reviews and comments on research and policy documents from other Federal agencies.
- Participate in, and often coordinate interagency committees and working groups of the Council member agencies, developing research and analytical materials on matters of interest to the Council.
- Work with others and independently in coordinating analysis on matters before the Council.
- Develop, produce, and prepare policy statements, briefing materials, Congressional testimonies, Congressional reports, official correspondence, and other official documents for the Secretary, and other senior officials at Treasury in their role as supporting the Chairperson of the Council and at member agencies of the Council.

Key Requirements
- Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
- All new hires will be required to comply with federal ethics laws. A review of financial or other interests may be conducted to determine if they create any real or apparent conflict of interests with official Treasury duties.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9 . Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.

Specialized experience for the GS-15: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following:
- Experience independently performing analysis on policies, programs, or practices related to risks to financial stability associated with financial markets, such as capital markets, commodity markets, derivatives markets, or digital assets markets; AND
- Experience independently performing analysis on policies, programs, or practices related to risks to financial stability associated financial institutions such as depository institutions, broker-dealers, investment companies, insurance companies, central counterparties, or digital assets institutions; AND
- Experience with U.S. financial regulatory policy, including engagement with senior officials of financial regulatory agencies; AND
- Experience independently developing and communicating policy, advice, or recommendations to senior officials regarding financial analysis or risks to U.S. financial stability.

- This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.
