General Purpose of the Position:

The Senior Planner Manager will support the Supply Chain team and lead in driving strategic planning initiatives to optimize inventory management, maximize sales potential, and enhance profitability. The Planning manager will work cross-functionally with merchandising, distribution, and our headquarters teams to drive future growth.

Job Responsibilities

Distribution Planning:

  • Forecast future demand and capacity requirements to ensure distribution channels can support replenishment seasonal demand fluctuations
  • Manage inventory levels to keep in line stockouts and overstock situations
  • Setup initial allocations for new openings and relocations
  • Define “weeks of coverage” required to reach the expected service level and to assure appropriate product availability during the season
  • Define correct Target Stock Level for each SKU with merchandising by store
  • Develop forecasting methods to optimize product assortment, demand distribution, and replenishment strategies (MOC), while maintaining appropriate stock levels to meet demand and keep excess inventory to a minimum

Merchandise Planning:

  • Review monthly sales and forecasts for seasonal and replenishment program
  • Analyze sales data, sell-throughs, and inventory turnover and collaborate with buying team to make decisions on the business opportunities
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of regular business reviews, highlighting performance metrics, trends, and action plans to senior leadership
  • Partner with retail leader, merchandising, and finance to reach an alignment on monthly sales forecasts by category
  • Support and prepare by product budgets, including sales forecasts, inventory levels, and (OTB) budgets, while monitoring performance against budget and adjust accordingly

Profile

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of building and developing teams
  • High level proficiency in retail merchandising planning, forecasting, demand planning and inventory management
  • Excellent analytical ability, strong business acumen, unparalleled accuracy, ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines at once, ability to summarize and action data, ability to create ad hoc reporting and templates to recap information efficiently
  • Ability to comfortably navigate ambiguity and “grey area”
  • Detailed Oriented and Data Driven
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, grow performance capabilities, and handle shifting priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, the ability to influence and collaborate effectively
  • Understanding of the luxury retail environment and processes
  • Strong business ethics
  • Self-disciplined and problem solver
  • Develop and evolve forecasting reports or tools
  • Lead and mentor the planning team, creating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvements

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:

  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with SAP a plus
  • Knowledge of Analytics/Reporting tools (Power BI, Business Objects etc.)

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • 5+ years of Planning and Supply Chain experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Compensation

Loro Piana uses the published salary range as a guideline to provide our employees with market-competitive pay while allowing for flexibility to recognize and reward various levels of expertise, performance, and tenure.

While the published salary range is a good faith reflection of the targeted salary level for the position, Loro Piana reserves the right to pay outside of the published salary range of $120,000.00 to $130,000.00 USD per year/hour.
