Position Summary:

The Sr. Producer is the production and organizational lead for all content production projects for a specific location of Straub Collaborative. This includes production management of high-volume e-commerce photography, video production, campaign photography in studio or location as well as customized production requests.


Main duties include receiving and organizing client forecasting data for product volume, images needed and corresponding capture schedule and post-scheduling into a production calendar for any specific period that meets delivery timelines. This includes all related style-out and pre-production as well as production planning activities.


The Sr. Producer will work in harmony with the Studio Manager and Creative Director to ensure all information is shared and translated into actionable tasks to complete the required deliverables on-time. This position will work to ensure all staffing needs are accommodated and scheduled on time. The Sr. Producer will be the central point for changes in the production and schedule to accommodate the changing needs of the client. Administration duties include seasonal and per-project, estimation, budgeting, financial tracking, invoicing, and invoice reconciliation. The Sr. Producer will complete these tasks as well as supervise a team that will coordinate these tasks as well.


Essential Functions:

  • Proven ability to work with the studio manager and creative director to effectively manage staffing and scheduling to achieve project and business goals.
  • Effectively communicates individual project status, seasonal status, and larger studio business status, accomplishments, and areas where resolution is needed to management. This includes coordinating and leading weekly planning or scheduling meetings.
  • Operates within or below client budget parameters and is accountable to with studio manager and creative director to achieve or better location specific studio annual budget. This includes production staffing, profit and loss evaluation summaries, expenses, estimate accuracy, and invoices prepared by project managers.
  • Can quickly understand and translate complex client spreadsheets into encompassing production volumes into an actionable calendar from pre-production activities through post-production and delivery.
  • Understands Straub Collaborative (Company) core business, the relevance and interaction of other roles within the Company and represents the best interest of the Company.


Position Duties:

  • Works in concert with the post-production management team to ensure proper forecasted resourcing based on provided client projections.
  • Creates projected budget invoice and tracks variances for monthly reconciliation.
  • Working knowledge of database production workflow systems or direct working knowledge of professional industry standard studio workflow systems. (Such as Shot Flow, Creative Force or Workhorse.)
  • Coordinates meetings with cross functional team to share production and creative information to facilitate completion of all deliverables on time and on target.
  • Leads client communication with all key stakeholders, schedules meetings, producing agendas and creates follow-up action list to ensure issue resolution or advancement of project
  • Leads by example in consistently seeking clarity of information and surfacing questions in order to find actionable resolution.
  • Ability to coach, mentor studio production staff and performance manage project management staff.
  • Respects the confidentiality of all team member information.
  • Directly, and with team handles photography crew castings for campaign and other productions as needed utilizing industry standard practices of holds, challenges, releases, and confirmations.
  • Liaise with outside vendors to maintain high level of organization with shifting priorities.
  • Creating/managing production budgets. Responsible for projections, invoices, reimbursements
  • Negotiates with outside agencies and vendors on company behalf as needed.
  • Ensure timeline is aligned with eCommerce Content Ops schedule.
  • Meet deadlines and delegate workload to team to make sure team meets launch and pass off dates for product to hit live on eCommerce.
  • Full buy in to the expectation in managing our business traffic to achieve a balance between profitability, production requirements, service excellence, and staff welfare.
  • Understands local employment law and the local market nuances: working requirements, freelance resources, and industry expectations while creating a network of freelance talent.
  • Ensures that all staff, temp staff, and talent are kept informed of the studio schedules including last minute changes and any advance information, to discuss any queries as appropriate.
  • Partners with studio leadership to resolve production scheduling conflicts.
  • May be asked to perform studio management tasks as temporary backfill as needed.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position will supervise the project management staff.
  • Prepares and presents annual performance evaluations and goal setting.
  • Ensures all staff follow digital privacy and physical studio safety guidelines as established. Implements a management style that compliments the fast-paced, client collaborative, creative atmosphere of the Company.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have 3 – 5+ years of production management of high-volume photography and video production workflow for a major studio or retail brand.
  • Experience of managing a team of at least five people in a production environment with demonstrated leadership skills in hiring and building teams, people development, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Presents a mastery knowledge of high-volume e-commerce digital photography and video production processes.
  • Demonstrated success at leading the high-volume production for a major studio or brand with a large internal studio supporting multiple concurrent on-figure, and off-figure sets of photography and video production.
  • Skilled at creating a comprehensive production schedule mapping out all pre-production and production tasks with staffing and all production details needed.
  • Campaign or editorial production experience is a plus.
  • Experience with agency production and inventory management is desired.
  • Track record of successful project completion at or below budget with superior results.
  • The position requires daily use of database management tools for workflow tracking (Shot Flow and Review Studio – Training provided).
  • Intermediate experience using MS Excel to sort and filter data as well as financial formula building.
  • Proven use of PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook are required with SharePoint knowledge a plus.
  • Experience using digital communication tools such as WebEx or Skype.
  • Requires knowledge of MS Apple Computers, Mac OS, and Mac ecosystem.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedules while still meeting accountabilities and essential functions.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Exceptional clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and across organization functions and levels and to write business correspondence.
  • Higher education degree and/or certificate; or equivalent combination of education and experience. conflict effectively and professionally.
