Salary: $140,000- $170,000 + bonus

Job Summary:

The Senior Operations Planning Director will be a vital part of the Operations team, responsible for driving the strategic planning and execution of our global operations. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of operational strategies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability across all regions. Additionally, the position fosters a culture of unity, communication, and ownership within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, strategic planning, and global supply chain logistics, with a proven track record of leading global teams and successful initiatives in a multinational environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role includes direct supervisory responsibilities, overseeing and guiding the performance of team members within the assigned department.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement global operational planning, including strategy, process, demand forecasting, reporting/business intelligence, and KPIs aligned with the company's overall budget and annual operating plan.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define and prioritize key initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Leadership, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams to develop longer-term planning models (1-3-5-year plans).
  • Develop Executive reviews to get sign-off on 30-60-90 consensus forecasts, including new product launches.
  • Create strategic planning and execution roadmaps for new market entries.

Achieve Operational Excellence:

  • Optimize lifecycle management from launching new products, through initial planning levels, to end-of-life cycle management, liquidation, and inventory dispositioning.
  • Oversee the development of capacity and material plans in conjunction with the Operations team and suppliers.
  • Contribute to mid and long-term sourcing strategy.
  • Develop monthly production planning requirements for each POD, including inventory plans for wholesale fulfillment while optimizing inventory and COGS.
  • Drive operational efficiency and process improvements across global operations by maintaining formal SOPs and developing new ones based on new initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to recommend areas for improvement and ensure operational goals are met.
  • Review weekly sales performance and production output to recommend any adjustments to the execution plan.

Leadership and Management:

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement processes, cross-training programs, and succession plans for the team.
  • Oversee the full cycle of projects, delegating effectively, and utilizing project management tools and methodologies from building a roadmap to post-launch analysis.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives effectively.

Financial Oversight:

  • Participate in the annual budgeting process and key decisions to drive the growth and efficiency of the business.
  • Develop and manage the global operations budget, ensuring cost control and financial targets are achieved.
  • Oversee P&L for special projects and initiatives to ensure alignment with strategic goals.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop strong partnerships with the core cross-functional team (Commercial, Marketing, Operations, and Finance) to ensure buy-in to product flow, forecasts, and inventory levels required to support company revenue and financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, regional sales, and key stakeholders to drive alignment and support for new and existing strategic initiatives.
  • Develop monthly/quarterly/annual management reviews of operational strategies and performance against goals.

Compliance:

  • Develop, negotiate, manage, and monitor contracts for external partners such as vendors, co-packers, third-party logistics, and technology tools, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, amendments, renewals, and new proposals.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L and budgets.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth, high-velocity working environment.
  • Experience leading projects involving cross-functional departments.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of senior leadership experience in operations management, strategic planning, or a related role within a multinational company.
  • Experience overseeing directors and above, each leading their respective teams.
  • Working knowledge of Tableau / Power BI or similar data analytics tools.
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite / Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
