Senior Operations Manager
As a member of the senior leadership team, the Senior Operations Manager will need operational skills and be prepared to adopt a ‘hands-on’ approach where necessary. The position provides leadership to our production and distribution functions and has responsibility for on-time customer deliveries, inventory control, shipping and receiving, production scheduling, product quality assurance and tracking efficiency, together with establishing and maintaining procedures to meet ISO13485 and FDA requirements. This position will ensure processes are established to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements and continually improve performance through the CI process. Works cross functionally with quality, engineering, finance and customer service to resolve problems, improve processes/products and implement new products.
Accountabilities will include, but are not limited to:
- As a member of the leadership team, participating in the establishment of longer term goals to support business growth/strategy.
- Developing a robust team capable of quickly resolving issues and proactively seeking out help.
- Managing product scheduling, final assembly and test, purchasing, stockroom, and shipping – both direct and indirect reports.
- Responsibility for production department, materials, shipping and receiving departments meeting ISO and FDA quality regulations.
- Continuously improving product quality while meeting delivery schedules and maintaining a lean inventory and the efficient use of labor.
- Developing methods for improving operating efficiencies and production line capabilities. Analyzing data for process improvements.
- Partnering with supply chain and quality to resolve supply quality, cost and delivery issues. As needed participate in projects to improve supplier quality, cost and delivery.
- Understand the ERP system and work to align electronic processes with physical processes. Understand implications of ERP system on financials and reporting.
- Utilize value stream mapping to ensure the reduction of lead times from shipping through shipping. Partner with Customer Service and Supply Chain to extend the value stream.
- Working with representatives from Engineering, Regulatory, Quality and IT to ensure all production processes meet today’s requirements and are continuously improving to meet tomorrow’s requirements.
- Partner with sister manufacturing facilities to share best practices.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- 8 or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Medical device or pharma preferred.
- 5 or more years of management experience
- In-depth knowledge of electronics assembly and testing preferred
Travel Commitment:
- Up to 15%, to include both domestic and international.
