Under general administrative direction, the Senior Manager of Operations is responsible for the overall efficient operation of the company’s outsourced production network. The incumbent is responsible for: all aspects of manufacturing operations at Contract Manufacturer’s (CM) and Re-pack Facilities; the short and long term planning and executing of production to meet sales demand, cost controls and budget management, efficient flow of raw and finished materials to and from CM’s, engineering and plant equipment support, and acts as the primary point of contact for all product specification, quality, and relationship matters and performs site audits as needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute product programs through CM’s that meet short- and long-term goals and meet or exceed company specifications.
  • Plans operations that meet operational and financial targets
  • Ensures materials for production and finished goods flow according to lean management principals
  • Provides support and direction for plant equipment and engineering projects
  • Ensures all inventory flow is well managed and accounted for
  • Responsible for reporting of operational KPI’s
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for:
  • New product development with CMs
  • Production accruals vs. actual
  • Maintaining compliant and accurate production records
  • Continuous improvement of network and CM performance
  • Production data integrity
  • Non-Conformance CAPA
  • Tolling fee accuracy and compliance
  • Site visits and program audits
  • Daily, weekly, monthly KPIs and reporting requirements
  • Develops & maintains a well-staffed organization; conducts departmental interviews, training, development, coaching, performance reviews and disciplinary issues
  • Attends trade events and stays up to date on the latest industry trends and equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required


Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years old and hold a bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Accounting, Natural Sciences, or other quantitative discipline from an accredited four (4) year College
  • Eight (8) years of experience in a role in Supply Chain, Strategic Account Management, Procurement, in a CPG/Food/Beverage environment, having demonstrated increasing responsibility, autonomy and professional aptitude
  • Live within 50 miles of the Fairfield, CA office or relocate without assistance prior to appointment
  • Adapt to changes in production schedules and work various hours, which may also include: additional shifts or hours, swing, on-call or night shifts, weekends, and/or holidays as operations dictate. Additionally, management reserves the right to temporarily or permanently revise working hours to meet the needs of the company
  • Follow SOP and policies throughout CM facilities, work safely, effectively use checklists and job-aids, and keep working areas clean & tidy
  • Successfully multitask
  • Work effectively in a team environment and alone
  • Maintain punctuality and predictable attendance and eagerness to manage time and resources to get the job done safely and correctly
  • Behave in a supportive, professional and respectful way towards all staff, vendors, partners, clients, and visitors
