Skills Required:
Under administrative direction, the purpose of the position is to maintain server logs, perform backups and restoring of data, and assist with the overall maintenance of LAN/WAN systems
Position is responsible for diagnosing network hardware and software problems, and providing effective resolution in a manner that minimizes downtime for the network.
Associates degree with coursework in network systems installations, maintenance, diagnostics and repair, or closely related field; supplemented by three (3) years journey level skilled experience in installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of local and wide area network systems, with experience in addressing complex hardware and software problems in networking environments, with the ability to provide end user support and instruction applicable to area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS
Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) required or equivalent; Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred; Linux System Administration and experience in Sun PRO, Telestaff, and Citrix also preferred.
