Bezos Academy United States

As the Senior Curriculum Specialist focused on standards and assessments for Bezos Academy, you will be responsible for shaping the design and implementation of preschool observation, planning, recordkeeping, data analysis, and child assessment systems so they are Montessori-aligned. You will leverage your Primary (3-6) Montessori expertise to ensure that leaders, teachers, and families have the information they need to understand children’s progress through the curriculum and also how to best support early childhood development. To accomplish this, you will function as a Montessori subject matter expert and own the pedagogical partnership on projects involving our impact, student support, and family engagement teams which will inform the use, creation, and continuous improvement of assessments and other tools. You will also inform the design and creation of classroom record keeping tools and family-facing resources so that they align to organizational goals.

You will work closely with your colleagues on the Curriculum Team as well as colleagues across the organization to ensure high-quality implementation of assessments and their analysis using a Montessori lens. Last, you will continually gather feedback and evaluate the efficacy of our curricular content to increase our impact over time. Your Montessori expertise will shape our organization’s suite of innovative assessment tools which are accessible to and inclusive of diverse staff, as well as responsive to child, teacher, and school leadership needs.

You are an experienced Montessorian and familiar with other pedagogies in early childhood education. You have prior experience with child learning assessments, analyzing, and interpreting data, and learning standards alignment. You will draw heavily on your personal commitment to students and families. Above all, you share our passion for expanding access to tuition-free, Montessori-inspired preschools in under-resourced communities nationwide.
