Title: (Senior) Medical Director / Director/VP of Clinical Development
Salary: Between $280k - $360k
Location: Boston / 2 days onsite a week
About the Position:
My client is looking for a (Senior) Medical Director, Oncology to lead and oversee the medical strategy for their oncology therapeutic area. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing clinical programs and providing medical expertise to support the overall therapeutic area strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Medical Strategy: Develop and execute the oncology medical strategy, aligning with company goals. Identify key medical insights and opportunities for clinical development.
- Clinical Development: Lead the planning, design, and execution of clinical trials. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful clinical program implementation.
- Medical Expertise: Stay current with oncology advancements and provide medical insights to internal and external stakeholders, including preclinical teams, regulatory affairs, clinical operations, and business development.
- KOL: Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders in oncology. Engage in scientific exchange and collaborate on research initiatives.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of medical professionals.
Qualifications:
- MD degree required; specialization in oncology is a plus.
- Proven experience in oncology clinical development within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial design, execution, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex scientific information effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
It's not essential but it would be great if you have..
- Experience in both big pharma (e.g., AZ, BMS, Roche) and biotechnology companies.
- Focus on solid tumor oncology.
- Experience with early-phase (Phase I) and First-in-Human studies.
- Expertise in study design and Clinical Development Plan (CDP) development.

- CMO interview
- Peers panel interview
- CEO interview
