In 2016 when we started Veho, we had a clear conviction: e-commerce will continue to grow; Amazon will pressure everyone else to push the boundaries around speed, cost, and customer experience, and legacy carriers will fail to adapt. We started Veho to replace these legacy carriers with a customer-centric shipping company designed for the e-commerce era.
Eight years later, the industry is changing again and in front of our eyes. As we foresaw in 2016, many legacy carriers are struggling - some of them are going out of business. At the same time, more and more disruptors are entering the space, and more large international companies are trying to figure out how to play in this market.
To continue winning in this space and build one of the greatest companies in the world, we must get super smart about this competitive landscape. We need to constantly read the map, develop a point of view, and act on it boldly to our advantage.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a resourceful self-starter to stand up Veho’s competitive intelligence strategy. You will roll up your sleeves and leverage the rest of the organization to build a comprehensive competitive intelligence database to shape our company-wide strategy, provide the Commercial team with market intelligence and industry benchmarks, and the business area partners with intel on how competitors are solving similar problems.
You will use that knowledge to help drive our strategy and evaluate different opportunities. You will be a key leader managing our annual strategic planning and support leadership through key insights and analysis in finalizing our annual strategy.

Responsibilities Include
- Oversee the end-to-end management, planning, and execution of competitive intelligence collection
- Roll up your sleeves and gather first-hand information through onsite studies (boots on the ground), conversations with experts, reading industry reports, and attending industry conferences
- Leverage the rest of the company to help with intelligence-gathering
- Translate findings into actionable insights, empowering stakeholders with the knowledge to make strategic decisions.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for competitive intelligence, staying abreast of industry trends and their driving forces
- Develop reports and presentations for senior management and actively contribute to the vision for Veho.
- Determine which investments and opportunities to pursue in support of our growth strategy, how best to pursue them (build, buy, partner), and how to sequence and prioritize them
- In support of our strategy, identify opportunities to grow our capabilities to be more attractive to more clients, more defensible as a business, and more valuable as an enterprise long-term
- Help translate our vision and strategy into company roadmaps across Commercial, Operations, Product, and Legal.
- Self-starter who identifies opportunities in our business model and the industry and is hungry to take advantage of them.
- A can-do mindset. Resourceful and creative in identifying how to gain access to data and competitive intelligence.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, adept at articulating strategic implications from data analysis and structuring ambiguous problems
- Experience in driving strategic initiatives and effectively working with cross-functional leaders toward operational outputs across an organization.
- Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Big picture thinker. Possess a progressive mindset and always willing to build in-depth market knowledge and stay abreast of logistics trends, industry players, and emerging technologies.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and effective partnerships with Sales, Ops, R&D, and Finance.
