Summary/Objective

JOB DESCRIPTION

USA Football is looking for an innovative and experienced Senior Manager, Social Media to serve as our brand voice across all major social media platforms. This role will lead channel strategy and manage the day-to-day content calendar, crafting posts that engage and inform our target audiences.

The right candidate will use their creative vision to develop comprehensive social strategies that break through the noise by being different and setting new standards, whether covering an event, helping produce an educational content series, or ideating branded content.

As the exclusive selector for the U.S. National Team that competes in international events, including the Olympics, we are looking for someone to help increase awareness of USA Football’s mission and highlight current and future elite talent in our sport.

Essential Functions

  • Implement a creative vision for current content and a roadmap for how we will innovate in the NGB space
  • Oversee content calendars and manage postings and caption writing for all social channels, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn
  • Craft distinct strategies on respective social channels that inform the organization's brand and tone
  • Understand the latest social media trends, including the cross-section of sports, pop culture, music, fashion, art and entertainment
  • Work alongside video production and design teams to develop extensive content plans
  • Help identify and plan the content strategy for major brand storytelling initiatives
  • Lead the development of content coverage plans for our events, occasionally helping content capture
  • Digest briefs, identifying key elements to raise brand awareness and engagement, drive a direct CTA, and increase revenue
  • Work cross-functionally to service needs for other internal departments (including but not limited to U.S. National Teams, partnerships, marketing, events, membership & affiliation, and education)
  • Help build and maintain a network of freelancers and outside vendors
  • Manage a social media intern and potentially future personnel
  • Assist with influencer programming
  • Create and communicate monthly reports to track, analyze, and measure results
  • Maintain budget for storytelling, content capture and social media tools

Required Education And Experience

  • 5+ years experience publishing social media content for a brand or company with a substantial following, ideally leading team(s). Sports social media experience is a plus
  • Expert knowledge of social media platforms, their algorithms, back-end posting studios, and how to optimize content by platform
  • Impeccable attention to detail with copy and a strong understanding of AP Style
  • A proven track record brainstorming and executing original ideas, memes and trending content
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite, vertical video production and photo editing
  • An established history of creating plans and strategies while also executing day-to-day work
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal, to execute content strategies and establish trust and confidence
  • Accustomed to providing feedback to staff, including videographers and designers, and receiving it from leadership or other stakeholders
  • Previous experience maintaining a budget and with social media reporting
  • Advanced knowledge of football
  • Ability to be flexible with your work schedule, including working nights and weekends based on event needs and priorities. This will include overnight and weekend travel for domestic and international events as needed


Travel

20-30% travel is expected for this role. Event coverage mainly.

Salary

The range for this position is $58,674 - $93,726. Pending skills, education and experience.
