Senior Manager, Program Management

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Manager, Program Manager is the leader of the Industrialization program managers and key position that is driving the evolution of Gentherm. You will have a significant role in growing our North American business and establishing excellence in our North American Business operations as we focus on growth and expansion of our technological and manufacturing footprint. You will also collaborate closely with the company’s business leaders and the world’s largest Automotive OEMs and technology partners to launch new products to market, driving significant footprint and business growth for Gentherm!

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of industrialization program managers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations and the customer to develop and implement project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  • Utilize strong financial acumen to manage project budgets, analyze financial reports, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Responsible for Project P&L for the assigned portfolio.
  • Accountable for all aspects of schedule, budget, cost, and scope for assigned products, pro-actively manage changes against defined baseline
  • Accountable for successful product launches in North America
  • Actively Lead and Manage project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and provide recommendations for timely resolution.
  • Lead the Program Team to identify and achieve Continuous Improvements /cost reductions on programs to increase overall program margin.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices in the Automotive industry, focused on Thermal management, Pneumatics and Electronics systems
  • Ensure customer involvement where necessary to achieve Continuous Improvement objectives by program to increase overall program margin.
  • Manage/ensure the APQP processes are executed from Acquisition to Launch through EOP
  • Elevate red risk items to Top Management for immediate response and resolution on showstopper issues.
  • Assist in the development and review of contractual and business obligations
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities as appropriate, identify and resolve conflicts, manage project dependencies and constraints, and develop contingency plans where required
  • Accountable for adhering to project governance and stage gating requirements
  • Identify resource gaps and potential bottlenecks and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the program management team.
  • Maintain and improve other project management tools as necessary to drive the development process
  • Prepare and present reports periodically on the status of assigned programs
  • Develop a training program for new hires as well as continuing education for the program management team.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 years automotive experience
  • 5+ years of managing and leading teams
  • Experience managing systems with electronics components
  • Expert new product introduction, Program Management knowledge
  • Works well under pressure
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.

Preferred But Not Required Qualifications

  • Experience in Electronics, Thermal management, Pneumatic & Lumbar systems
  • Working knowledge of APQP and IATF 16949, ASPICE and ISO 26262 functional safety
  • Confluence/Jira knowledge (nice to have)
  • Experience with automotive seat systems and/or interiors is a plus
  • Operations management, quality, supply chain experience, Lean Expert/Professional, Six Sigma
  • Agile experience in a product owner or scrum master role (nice to have)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

TRAVEL: 5% or less - The employee may be required to travel to various domestic and international locations for the purpose of conducting business on behalf of the company.

Work Environment: This position is open to being filled in our Northville, Michigan or Monterrey, Mexico locations.
